ABOUT HER
Indonesian-born violinist, Lidya obtained her Master's degree (with honour) with full scholarship from the Russian Minister of Education and Science (Россотрудничество) at Rostov State Conservatory (S. V. Rachmaninoff), Russia under the tutelage of Vladimir Filatov and Prof. Evgeniya Gorbenko.
Lidya completed her bachelor study at Universitas Pelita Harapan Conservatory of Music, Indonesia, under scholarship and graduated with magna cum laude under the tutelage of Dr. Tomislav Dimov, student of Prof. Marine Iashvilly. During her studies, she won several national and international competitions like in Indonesia, Singapore and Australia. Outside the academic environment, Lidya has participated as soloist and chamber musician in many national ensembles. As a soloist, she has performed with Ngayogstringkarta and Bandung Philharmonic Orchestra. As a chamber musician she was a former member of Cascade Trio whose name has been well recognized nationally. She was given the privelege to performed in the Gala Concert of Apple Hill Institute of Chamber Music, New Hampshire, USA, alongside with Cascade Trio. She also broaden her musical knowledge through summer festivals such as Crescendo Summer Institute in Hungary, Apple Hill Institute of Chamber Music, and Avila International Music Festival.
Last year, she received a laureate from Student Scientific Forum 2021 for her article titled "The Reflection of Sounds of Javanese Gamelan Orchestra in the Debussy's Sonata for Violin and Piano." Lidya was also a Co-Concertmaster at the Bandung Philharmonic during season 2 (2017). She also has been selected as Southeast Asia Youth Orchestra (Thailand-Vietnam) for Indonesia's representatives in 2013. Recently, she participated in the Korean Symphony International Orchestra Academy in Seoul, Korea. Lidya also founded The Openstring Quartet along with her friends in 2022.
She started her music education at the age of 5 in piano instrument. Then she started her violin lessons at the age of 7 with belated Joseph Mariadi and later on with Alvine Kurniawan, Shienny Kurniawati and Finna Kurniawati. She also actively participate in masterclasses with world-class violinists and pedagogues such as, Beata Halska (France), David Frühwirth (Austria), Prof. Marilyn McDonald (USA), Dr. Ayke Agus (Indonesia-USA), Maxim Fedotov (Russia) and many more. Lidya is currently active as a music educator and concert violinist. She also broaden her inspiration by participating and collaborating with artists and musicians in various projects.
